Beijing: Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, has shared his perspectives on China’s “Two Sessions”, the proposed 15th Five-Year Plan, and the Government Work Report presented this week.

In interviews with Chinese media outlets including People’s Daily, People’s Daily Haiwainet, Xinhuanet and Guangxi TV, the ambassador highlighted the significance of China’s governance model and its development strategy.

Responding to a question about whole-process people’s democracy, Ambassador Hashmi said the inclusive and people-centered consultation process forms the core of China’s governance system.

He noted that this approach has enabled China to achieve remarkable development progress within a relatively short period of time.

He also described the five-year planning framework as a key policy blueprint that ensures continuity, flexibility, predictability and stability in governance.

Ambassador Hashmi further pointed out that the priorities outlined in China’s 15th Five-Year Plan closely align with Pakistan’s national economic transformation initiative, “Uraan Pakistan.”

He said both countries are working together to enhance cooperation in key sectors including agriculture, information and communication technology (ICT), science and technology, education, artificial intelligence, as well as digital and green development.

Referring to the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, the ambassador termed it an important milestone that reflects the enduring friendship between the two nations.

He expressed confidence that bilateral relations will continue to grow and expand further across government-to-government, business-to-business and people-to-people engagements.
