Beijing:The Government of the People’s Republic of China has reiterated its firm and consistent position on the Question of Palestine, affirming that Gaza is an integral and inseparable part of the Palestinian territory.
Responding to questions at a regular press briefing, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated:
> “Gaza belongs to the Palestinian people and is an inseparable part of the Palestinian territory. The principle of ‘Palestinians governing Palestine’ must be upheld in all post-conflict governance and reconstruction efforts.”
The Spokesperson emphasized that immediate and concerted efforts are needed to:
Secure a comprehensive ceasefire to end the ongoing violence;
Alleviate the humanitarian crisis faced by the people of Gaza; and
Ensure reconstruction and governance led by Palestinians themselves, in line with their right to self-determination.
China underlined that any attempt to alter Gaza’s status through force or external imposition will not bring peace but further instability. Beijing reaffirmed its support for a just and lasting settlement of the Palestinian question based on the two-state solution, with an independent State of Palestine established on the basis of the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital.
The statement reflects China’s continued commitment to working with the international community to promote peace, uphold international law, and advance the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
