Lahore : Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has departed for Doha, the capital of Qatar, on a one-day official visit. He will participate today in the emergency Arab-Islamic Summit being held in Doha.
The summit has been convened in the backdrop of Israeli airstrikes on Doha and the continuously deteriorating situation of human rights violations in Palestine.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi are accompanying the Prime Minister as part of a high-level delegation.
Heads of state and senior officials from OIC member countries are expected to attend the summit.
Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Qatar and strongly condemns Israeli aggression against Qatar and other regional states.
In a show of solidarity with Qatar and regional unity, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited Doha on September 11, 2025, where he met with the Qatari leadership to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for Qatar’s security and sovereignty, as well as its commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East.
The participation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, along with other Muslim leaders, in the emergency summit in Doha is a manifestation of the Muslim Ummah’s strong unity and its unwavering resolve to establish regional peace.
