London: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has departed from London for New York to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
At London Luton Airport, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, along with members of the diplomatic staff, saw off the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister will deliver Pakistan’s address at the 80th session of the UNGA, where global leaders will gather to deliberate on pressing international issues including peace and security, climate change, sustainable development, global economic challenges, and reforms of multilateral institutions.
During his visit, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders, as well as attend high-level events on development, climate action, and international cooperation.
The 80th session of the UNGA, taking place at the UN Headquarters in New York from 22 to 26 September 2025, is expected to focus on advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), strengthening global partnerships, and addressing regional conflicts.
