Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has departed for a one-day visit to Doha to express solidarity with the Emir of Qatar

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has departed for a one-day visit to Doha to express solidarity with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Qatari royal family, and the people of Qatar in the wake of Israeli aggression against the country.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Media Wing on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi are accompanying the Prime Minister as part of the delegation.

During his stay in Doha, the Prime Minister will meet the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. In the context of Israel’s unjustified aggression and blatant violations of international law, the Prime Minister will convey Pakistan’s solidarity with the Qatari Emir and the people of Qatar.

Pakistan and Qatar enjoy longstanding, historic, and brotherly relations based on shared faith and values. Pakistan has always stood by Qatar in difficult times and will continue to do so — a commitment the Prime Minister will reiterate during his meeting with the Qatari Emir.

The meeting will also include consultations on Israel’s unwarranted attacks and continued aggression against various countries in the region, as well as discussions on efforts for the establishment of peace in the region.
