Other countries also wish to become part of the agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, says Ishaq Dar.
London: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is historic. He noted that it was not finalized overnight, but rather took several months to conclude, adding that other countries also wish to become part of such an agreement.
Speaking to journalists here, he said that both countries are very pleased with the strategic mutual defense agreement. He added that an agreement between the two countries had always existed, and other nations also desire to join such arrangements.
He said that the accord between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia was not reached overnight but took months of effort. Saudi Arabia has always stood by Pakistan in difficult times. After sanctions, Saudi support was of great importance, and when Pakistan needed backing for the IMF program, Saudi Arabia extended full support.
He further said that every Muslim is ready to sacrifice for the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques.
