Islamabad : Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will lead Pakistan’s delegation to the high-level segment of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York from September 22, 2025. He will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, cabinet members, and senior officials.
In his address to the General Assembly, the Prime Minister will spotlight the unresolved disputes of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine, urging the international community to end prolonged occupation and ensure the right to self-determination. He is expected to particularly emphasize the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and call for decisive global action to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
The Prime Minister’s speech will also outline Pakistan’s perspective on regional security and address pressing global challenges, including climate change, terrorism, Islamophobia, and sustainable development.
On the sidelines of the UNGA session, Prime Minister Sharif will participate in several high-level meetings, including those of the UN Security Council, the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and a Special Event on Climate Action. He will also attend a consultative meeting of select Islamic leaders with U.S. President Donald Trump to exchange views on regional and international peace and security.
Bilateral meetings with world leaders and senior UN officials are also on the Prime Minister’s agenda, where he will reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to multilateralism, conflict prevention, and the promotion of peace and prosperity.
Pakistan’s active participation in this largest annual gathering of world leaders will underscore the country’s longstanding support for the United Nations and its contribution towards advancing shared global objectives of peace, development, and cooperation.
