Prime Minister to Attend Inaugural Session of UN General Assembly Today

New York: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will attend the formal opening ceremony of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly today.

During his visit to New York, in addition to attending the opening ceremony of the General Assembly, the Prime Minister will also participate in a special summit of Arab and Islamic countries hosted jointly by the United States and Qatar. The Prime Minister has been specially invited to this summit, which will also be attended by U.S. President Donald Trump.

The Prime Minister will hold meetings with Austrian Chancellor Christine Stacker, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.

The Prime Minister will also attend and address the high-level meeting of the Global Development Initiative (GDI).
