Prime Minister Welcomes Thailand–Cambodia Peace Accord

Islamabad : Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has warmly welcomed the peace agreement signed between Thailand and Cambodia, describing it as a historic milestone for peace and diplomacy in the region.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister congratulated the leadership and people of both countries on the successful conclusion of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord, calling it “another historic day for peace and diplomacy.”

He extended his heartfelt felicitations to the leaders and citizens of Thailand and Cambodia for their commitment to dialogue and reconciliation, emphasizing that the accord would pave the way for long-term regional harmony and prosperity.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended former U.S. President Donald Trump for his “pivotal role” in facilitating the Kuala Lumpur Agreement, as well as for his broader efforts to promote global peace through the Gaza Peace Initiative and peace efforts across the Middle East and South Asia, which he said had “helped save countless lives worldwide.”

The Prime Minister further expressed appreciation for Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, acknowledging his tireless efforts to advance peace, unity, and stability in the region.

He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for all initiatives aimed at promoting peace, dialogue, and mutual respect among nations.
