Beijing: President Xi Jinping met Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo during the latter’s official visit to China.
President Xi noted that the Chinese and Finnish peoples share qualities of perseverance and resilience.
He stressed the need for both countries to strengthen mutual trust, expand people-to-people exchanges, and deepen practical cooperation.
Welcoming Finnish companies, President Xi said China’s vast market offers strong opportunities for businesses seeking to enhance global competitiveness.
Highlighting Finland’s leading role in winter sports and China’s large and growing number of winter sports enthusiasts, President Xi called for closer cooperation and exchanges in this field to further strengthen bilateral ties.
President Xi also reaffirmed China’s readiness to work with Finland to firmly uphold the United Nations–centered international system and the international order based on international law.
He said both sides should jointly address global challenges and promote an equal and orderly multipolar world as well as inclusive and mutually beneficial economic globalization.
