Pakistan will not participate in the opening ceremony of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Lahore: Pakistan will not participate in the opening ceremony of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

According to sources, Pakistan will not attend the mega event’s opening ceremony being held in India, and neither the captain of the women’s team nor any other representative will travel to India.

Sources further said that Pakistan will not be part of any ceremony or activity related to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

The ICC has announced that the grand opening ceremony will take place in Guwahati on September 30, during the India vs. Sri Lanka match.

Traditionally, captains of the participating teams take part in a photo session with the trophy and attend a press conference at ICC events.

Under the hybrid model, the Pakistan women’s team will play all its matches in Sri Lanka. The World Cup will be held from September 30 to November 2 in India and Sri Lanka.
