Prime Minister departs for Hangzhou in first phase of four-day China visit

Lahore: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has departed for Hangzhou in the first phase of his four-day visit to China.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi are accompanying the Prime Minister.

During his stay in Hangzhou, the Prime Minister will meet the Party Secretary of Zhejiang Province.

He will also participate in a business forum organized to promote cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese companies under CPEC Phase-II, and attend a ceremony for the exchange of agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).

The Prime Minister will also hold meetings with CEOs of leading Chinese companies. He will visit the headquarters of the Chinese company Alibaba and attend a ceremony for the signing of cooperation MoUs.

Later, the Prime Minister will depart for Beijing. In Beijing, he will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Qiang. He will also attend a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

The Prime Minister will also meet heads of renowned Chinese companies and visit the China Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

The Prime Minister’s visit to China is expected to open new avenues in Pakistan-China relations, particularly in enhancing cooperation with Chinese companies under CPEC Phase-II.
