Islamabad: The ban on new gas connections for domestic use has been lifted, and RLNG connections will now be provided.
Addressing a press conference after the federal cabinet meeting, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik said that the cabinet had decided to lift the ban on new gas connections for households. For the convenience of the public, new RLNG connections will now be issued.
Ali Pervez Malik said that RLNG is cheaper than LPG, and the bidding process for the discovery of local gas is also underway.
He added that although RLNG is more expensive than domestic natural gas, it will be 30% cheaper than LPG, and new RLNG connections will be provided.
Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry stated that the federal cabinet has decided to impose a climate and agricultural emergency. A policy is being formulated to tackle climate change, and the Prime Minister will soon hold a meeting with the Chief Ministers of all four provinces.
Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that floodwater is now entering Sindh from the Panjnad point. Water passages have been narrowed, which has caused flooding, and therefore, an agricultural emergency is being imposed.
He further said that China is Pakistan’s great friend that has always stood by us in difficult times, and Pakistan is about to begin a new era of relations with China.
