China’s Defense Minister Urges Stronger Global Governance, Military Cooperation at Xiangshan Forum

Beijing: China’s Minister of National Defense, Dong Jun, on Wednesday called for concerted efforts to support global governance and foster a community with a shared future for humanity.

Speaking at separate meetings with the defense chiefs of Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Namibia, Rwanda, and Senegal — all in Beijing to attend the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum — Dong underscored the historical and practical importance of this year’s gathering.

Welcoming the foreign defense leaders, Dong stressed that the Chinese military remains committed to advancing long-standing friendships, enhancing strategic communication, deepening high-level security cooperation, and working jointly to address global risks and challenges.

The visiting defense chiefs expressed their readiness to strengthen military cooperation with China, reaffirming their shared commitment to peace, security, and stability.
