China’s 20th CPC Central Committee Convenes Fourth Plenary Session to Shape Next Five-Year Development Blueprint
Beijing :The fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is being held in Beijing from Monday to Thursday, drawing global attention as China charts the course for its long-term national development amid persistent economic headwinds.
The high-level meeting is expected to focus on the review and deliberation of the Proposal of the CPC Central Committee for the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development (2026–2030). This plan will serve as a strategic roadmap for China’s economic transformation, technological innovation, and social modernization over the next five years.
Senior Party and government leaders are participating in discussions to evaluate the achievements and challenges of the ongoing 14th Five-Year Plan period, while formulating policy directions that will guide China’s sustainable growth, reform agenda, and modernization drive through 2030.
The session comes at a crucial juncture as China continues to strengthen its economic resilience, promote high-quality development, and advance its dual circulation strategy—boosting domestic demand while maintaining openness to global markets.
Observers anticipate that the meeting will also outline measures to enhance technological self-reliance, improve livelihoods, advance green development, and deepen institutional reforms. These efforts reflect China’s commitment to achieving balanced growth, innovation-led progress, and greater integration into the global economy.
The outcomes of the plenary session are expected to shape China’s national priorities and governance approach for the years ahead, reaffirming the CPC’s central role in guiding the country’s development path and modernization goals.
