China Aspires to Build Asia-Pacific Community for Shared Peace and Prosperity — President Xi Jinping
Busan : Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday expressed China’s firm commitment to working with countries across the world to build an Asia-Pacific community of shared peace and prosperity, fostering new momentum for global peace and development.
Addressing the APEC CEO Summit, President Xi announced that China will host the APEC meeting for the third time next year, reaffirming Beijing’s determination to strengthen regional cooperation under the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) framework.
President Xi outlined four key principles for advancing Asia-Pacific cooperation:
1. Safeguarding peace and stability, which serves as the foundation for development;
2. Promoting openness and connectivity to enhance mutual understanding and trade;
3. Upholding mutual benefit and win-win cooperation for shared growth; and
4. Advancing inclusive and balanced development to ensure that no nation is left behind.
Xi emphasized that China remains a major driver of global economic growth. During the country’s 14th Five-Year Plan, China maintained an average annual growth rate of 5.5%, contributing nearly 30% to global economic expansion.
Highlighting China’s economic potential, President Xi said the country offers a safe, open, and dynamic investment environment, serving as a hub of innovation and emerging industries. China, he noted, has established the world’s largest renewable energy system and a complete new energy industrial chain, offering green growth opportunities for international partners.
“To travel with China is to travel with opportunities; to believe in China is to believe in the future; to invest in China is to invest in tomorrow,” President Xi concluded, calling on the global business community to deepen confidence and cooperation with China for a prosperous shared future.
