Beijing: China has rejected remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, who suggested that an Iranian cargo ship intercepted by the United States might have been carrying a “gift” from China.

A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that China firmly opposes such claims and speculation that lack factual evidence.

The spokesperson emphasized that normal trade between countries should not be disrupted without justification.

He further stated that China has always supported international trade in accordance with global laws and principles, and that unverified allegations could harm the global trading environment.

It is worth noting that the interception of the Iranian vessel by the United States has sparked fresh diplomatic debate, but China has strongly denied the allegations and called for evidence to support such claims.
