Pakistan, China Discuss Regional Peace and Strengthening Bilateral Ties During Ishaq Dar’s Beijing Visit

Beijing:Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar’s Meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in Beijing on 31st March 2026*

According to foreign office spokesperson Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, paid an official visit to Beijing on 31 March-1 April 2026 at the invitation of H.E. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China.
The meeting was marked by traditional warmth and cordiality. Both dignitaries exchanged notes on the regional developments in West Asia as well as bilateral relations.

Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister briefed Foreign Minister Wang Yi in detail on the efforts Pakistan continues to make towards cessation of conflict and resumption of dialogue including the recent meeting in Islamabad among Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Egypt. Both sides reviewed the regional security environment and expressed deep concern over its serious socio-economic repercussions on developing countries. In this context, both sides launched a five-point initiative for restoring peace and stability in the Gulf and Middle East.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi conveyed China’s appreciation and support to Pakistan’s active diplomatic role and efforts towards ending the conflict and promoting peace in West Asia.
Both Minister reviewed with satisfaction the growing momentum in bilateral relations, while underscoring pursuit of high-quality development and strategic cooperation under CPEC 2.0, and enhancing high level exchanges and communication amidst a year marking commemoration of 75th anniversary of bilateral relations.

Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister expressed his sincere gratitude to Foreign Minister Wang Yi for the warm welcome and exceptional hospitality extended to him and his delegation. They also exchanged views on Afghanistan and the importance of peace, stability and the critical importance of countering terrorism effectively.
Both sides undertook to remain in regular contact
